From collection to payment, step by step
What happens at each stage once you’ve accepted your price, and what you need to do.
Step 1: Get your price
You get your price on our Sell My Laptop page by choosing your laptop’s:
- Brand
- Processor and its generation
- Screen size
- Graphics card (gaming laptops)
- Condition
The price is based on what laptops like yours sell for now. When you confirm it, you add your details and choose bank transfer or PayPal, and the price is held for 14 days.
Step 2: Send Your Laptop
How your laptop reaches us depends on your quote:
- Over £20: free DPD collection from your door. The driver brings a box, so you don’t need packaging or a printer.
- £10 to £20: drop it at a DPD shop with the free label we email you.
- Under £10: post it to us yourself.

Step 3: Device Inspection
When your laptop arrives:
- We check the model and specifications
- We verify the condition
- We test basic functionality
If the device matches the description, we approve the valuation.
If there is a difference in condition, we will contact you with a revised offer before proceeding. If we find damage or a screen fault, your order page shows our photos of it.
If you decline, we will return your device free of charge. You have 7 days to answer; we remind you 2 days before the end, and if we still hear nothing, the sale goes ahead at the revised price.
Step 4: Secure Data Removal
Before reuse or refurbishment, user data is securely removed as part of our processing procedure.
If you prefer, you may wipe your laptop before sending it.

Step 5: Same-day payment
Once it’s checked, we pay you the same day, within 24 hours of it arriving on a working day, by:

- PayPal
