Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

Finding your Legion’s model and processor
The label under the laptop carries the serial number (S/N), the model name and the MTM, the machine type model, which opens with four characters (82WK on a Legion Pro 5 16IRX8). Lenovo Vantage shows the same serial and MTM if the label has worn, and Lenovo’s PSREF site holds the spec sheet for every model. Our spec guide shows where Windows lists the processor.
You’ll also need the graphics card for the form. Its name is quickest in Task Manager: Ctrl, Shift and Esc opens it, and under Performance the GPU marked NVIDIA or AMD is the one.
Reading Legion model names
The code after the name holds the screen size, the processor maker and Lenovo’s own generation: in 15IAH7H, 15 is 15.6 inches, I is Intel and 7 is the seventh generation of that Legion. Lenovo’s generation isn’t Intel’s:
- Legion 5 15IMH05: 10th-generation Intel
- Legion 5 15ACH6H: AMD Ryzen 5000
- Legion 5 15IAH7H: 12th-generation Intel
- Legion Pro 5 16IRX8: 13th-generation Intel, 16-inch
- IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IHU6: 11th-generation Intel; 15ACH6: AMD Ryzen 5000
What changes a Legion’s price
- The graphics card, chosen from the Nvidia or AMD list.
- The processor: Intel from 8th generation up, or the Ryzen series.
- Condition. A missing or broken charger doesn’t change the grade: we take £75 off an Excellent Legion without a working one, and nothing off a Good or Faulty one.
- Faults. A cracked screen or a failed keyboard is Faulty; we pay for those too (selling a broken laptop).

Can I use the Lenovo page for a Legion?
Use this one. It asks for the card, and our gaming brands, Legion included, are priced a fifth over the standard brands for the same parts.
Is a LOQ or IdeaPad Gaming worth less than a Legion?
Not for the name. They share the Legion option, so a LOQ with a Legion’s chip and card, in the same state, fetches the same.
Where's the MTM if the label's unreadable?
Lenovo Vantage shows it alongside the serial number.
