Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

Samsung Galaxy Book laptops we buy

Finding your Galaxy Book’s model and processor
Samsung prints the model code on a label underneath. It starts NP (NP950XDB, for example), and the serial number sits beside it. Samsung’s support site finds the laptop from the model code. If it starts, the System Information app in Windows shows the model as System Model, and our spec guide points to the processor.
Reading Samsung model names
The number after Book is Samsung’s version, and the number after Pro is the screen size. The model code gives the same information:
- Galaxy Book Pro 15 (NP950XDB): 15.6-inch, 11th-generation Intel
- Galaxy Book2 Pro 15 (NP950XED): 15.6-inch, 12th generation
- Galaxy Book3 Pro 14 (NP940XFG): 14-inch, 13th generation
- Galaxy Book3 Pro 16 (NP960XFG): 16-inch, 13th generation
- Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 (NP960XGK): 16-inch, Intel Core Ultra
In these codes the letter after the X moves on a step each year: D, E, F, G.
What changes the price
- Each Book number moved to a newer Intel chip, so a Book3 pays more than a Book2 in the same condition.
- Screen size: a 13.3-inch Galaxy Book is bought, and pays less than the 14, 15.6 and 16-inch models.
- Excellent condition needs Samsung’s original charger, working. A missing or non-Samsung charger alone puts it in Good.
- A Galaxy Book with a cracked screen or no power is bought as Faulty (selling a broken laptop describes the grade).

My Galaxy Book has no Pro in the name. Do you buy it?
Yes. The plain Galaxy Book, Book2 and Book3 are bought on the same terms as the Pro.
Does the 360's touchscreen add to the price?
No. A touchscreen never changes our figure. A Book3 Pro 360 pays the same as a Book3 Pro with the same chip, size and condition.
The label has worn off and the laptop won't start. What now?
