How do I find my processor brand?
How do I find my processor brand?
Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

LG gram laptops we buy
We buy LG gram laptops in the 14, 15, 16 and 17-inch sizes.
Finding your gram’s model and processor
The model code, 14Z90P for example, is on the label under the laptop with the serial number. LG’s support site finds the manuals and specification from that code, and our spec guide takes you to the processor in Windows.
Reading LG gram model names
The first two digits of the code are the screen size (15 means 15.6 inches), and the letter at the end is the model year: N for 2020, P for 2021, Q for 2022, R for 2023. The year sets the processor generation:
- 14Z90N: 14-inch, 10th-generation Intel
- 14Z90P: 14-inch, 11th generation
- 14Z90Q: 14-inch, 12th generation
- 14Z90R: 14-inch, 13th generation
- 17Z90Q: 17-inch, 12th generation
What changes the price
- Its last letter. An R is three generations on from an N.
- The gram 14 is under 15 inches, which can affect the price depending on the condition.
- These grams charge by USB-C. Without a working charger an Excellent gram stays Excellent, less £10, and Good or Faulty prices don’t change.
- A gram with a cracked screen or liquid damage still sells to us under Faulty; selling a broken laptop lists what that grade covers.
LG gram laptop questions
Payment, collection and data wiping are covered on our FAQs page.
Does a gram 17 pay more than a gram 14?
It can. Depending on the laptop’s condition, the screen size can affect the price, and the gram 14 is under 15 inches.
I can't read the code on my gram's label. What else works?
If it starts, Windows System Information shows the code next to System Model. If it doesn’t, ring 01440 784570 or email info@sellyourlaptop.co.uk.
Is a 2020 gram still worth selling?
Yes. The 14Z90N has a 10th-generation Intel processor, which we buy and which meets Windows 11’s processor requirement.
