How do I find my processor brand?
How do I find my processor brand?
Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

HP Omen laptops we buy
We buy Omen 15, 16 and 17 laptops, and HP’s Victus 15 and 16 go through this page too. We don’t buy Omen desktops. Pavilion, EliteBook, ProBook and other HP laptops belong on our HP page.
Finding your Omen’s model and processor
HP’s label underneath lists the product number (the “Product” or “P/N” line), the serial number and the model name, such as OMEN by HP Laptop 16-b0xxx. The serial number on HP’s support site brings up that model’s spec sheet. For the Windows route to the processor, see our spec guide.
The form then asks about the graphics card. OMEN Gaming Hub reports on it under System Vitals. For the card’s model, bring up Task Manager (Ctrl, Shift, Esc), then the Performance tab, where the GPU with NVIDIA or AMD at the start of its name is the one.
Reading Omen and Victus model names
The number after Omen or Victus is the screen: 15 is 15.6-inch and 16 is 16.1. The letters and first digit after the dash mark the version:
- Omen 15-ek0: 10th-generation Intel
- Omen 16-b0: 11th-generation Intel
- Omen 16-b1: 12th-generation Intel
- Victus 16-d0: 11th-generation Intel
- Victus 16-d1: 12th-generation Intel
What changes the price of an Omen
- The graphics card. RTX 20-series cards share one option; RTX 30-series cards are listed one by one.
- The processor. On the gaming form, Intel starts at the 8th generation.
- Condition. An Omen with its HP charger, working and with light wear, can be Excellent; without the charger it’s Good.
- A laptop that won’t turn on is Faulty and still gets a price. Selling a broken laptop explains how.

HP Omen laptop questions
Payment, collection and data wiping are covered on our FAQs page.
Which option do I choose for a Victus?
HP Omen. The Victus goes through this page, which asks for the card and pays 1.2 times what the same parts earn as a standard HP.
My Omen 15 is a 15-ek1. Is that 11th generation?
No. The 15-ek1 kept the 10th-generation Intel processors of the ek0 and moved to RTX 30-series cards, so the card is what separates them.
Is an Omen worth more than a Victus?
Not for the badge. Omen and Victus are one option on our form; what’s inside and the condition decide the offer.
