How do I find my processor brand?
How do I find my processor brand?
Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

Huawei laptops we buy
We buy Huawei MateBook laptops: the MateBook D14 and D15, the MateBook 14, and the MateBook X Pro.
Finding your MateBook’s model and processor
Huawei reuses its names from year to year, so check the processor. In Huawei PC Manager, go to Optimization, then Hardware info, and the processor is listed there. The serial number is under Quick services (My Services on some versions) and on the base label. Windows lists the processor as well, as our spec guide shows.
Reading MateBook model names
The number in the name is the screen size: a D14 is 14-inch. The year of the model isn’t in the name, and the year sets the generation:
- MateBook D14 (2020): 10th-generation Intel, or AMD Ryzen 3000
- MateBook D14 (2021): 11th-generation Intel, or AMD Ryzen 5000
- MateBook X Pro (2021): 13.9-inch, 11th-generation Intel
- MateBook X Pro (2022): 14.2-inch, sold with either an 11th-generation i7-1195G7 or a 12th-generation i7-1260P
What changes the price
- Model year, through the processor. A 2021 D14 is a generation newer than a 2020 one.
- The 2021 X Pro’s 13.9-inch screen is just under 14 inches, so it’s priced below the 14.2-inch 2022 model.
- Excellent needs Huawei’s own charger, working. With a lost or replacement charger, pick Good.
- Broken MateBooks are bought too, graded Faulty. How that works is on selling a broken laptop.
Huawei laptop questions
Payment, collection and data wiping are covered on our FAQs page.
How do I tell a 2020 MateBook D14 from a 2021 one?
By the processor. An i5-10210U or a Ryzen 5 3500U is the 2020 model; an i5-1135G7 or a Ryzen 5 5500U is the 2021.
Which chip is in my 2022 MateBook X Pro?
Huawei sold it with both. PC Manager’s Hardware info names it: i7-1260P is the 12th-generation version, which pays more.
Do you buy the MateBook 13?
Yes. Its 13-inch screen is under 14 inches, so it’s priced lower than a MateBook 14 with the same processor.
