Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

Finding your ROG or TUF’s model and processor
The model code, such as G513QM or FA506IH, sits beside the serial number on the sticker underneath. MyASUS shows it under System info, and the code opens the right spec page on Asus’s site. Our spec guide covers reading the processor in Windows.
Next the form asks which graphics card is fitted. Armoury Crate’s home screen tracks the card while it runs, but its full name is in Task Manager. Press the Windows key, type Task Manager, open the Performance tab and find the GPU with NVIDIA or AMD in its name.
Reading ROG and TUF model names
The number in the range name is the screen: Strix G15, TUF A15 and TUF F15 are 15.6-inch, Strix G17 is 17.3, and Zephyrus G14 is 14. In a TUF code, FA is the AMD version (the A15) and FX the Intel one (the F15). Asus publishes no key to the letters after the number, so go by the whole code:
- ROG Strix G15 G513QM: AMD Ryzen 5000, RTX 3060
- TUF Gaming A15 FA506IH: AMD Ryzen 4000, GTX 1650
- TUF Gaming F15 FX506HM: 11th-generation Intel, RTX 3060
What moves the price on a ROG or TUF
- The graphics card, picked from the Nvidia or AMD list.
- The processor: Intel from 8th generation up, or the Ryzen series.
- Screen size. A Zephyrus G14 counts as 14 inches or larger; a 13.4-inch Flow X13 is under 14 and pays less.
- Condition. With a cracked screen or a keyboard fault it goes in as Faulty and still gets an offer, as selling a broken laptop explains.

Is a TUF worth less than a ROG?
Only if its parts are. ROG and TUF share one option on the form, and a TUF built like a Strix, in equal condition, is priced like one.
Which Ryzen option is a G513QM?
Read the chip name in Windows first. The G513QM-ES94, for example, has a Ryzen 9 5900HX: choose AMD, then Ryzen 9, then the 4000/5000 group.
My ROG's charger is a third-party one. Is that Faulty?
No. A charger that isn’t the original Asus one makes it Good. Faulty is for the laptop itself not working properly.
