Look for the sticker
Most laptops have a small Intel or AMD sticker on the palm rest, beside the touchpad.
In Windows
Open Settings, then System, then About. The line headed Processor starts with Intel or AMD. Our spec guide has pictures of each screen.
If it won't turn on
Turn it over. The label underneath carries the model number (on HP, the "Product" or "P/N" line), and that's enough to look up everything else. Or ring us on 01440 784570 with the model number and we'll look it up.

Finding your Predator or Nitro’s model and processor
Acer’s label under the laptop shows the model code (AN515-57, PH315-54 and so on), the serial number and the SNID, which is 11 or 12 digits with no letters. Acer Care Center shows the SNID on its My System tile, and Acer’s support site turns it into the exact model. The AN, ANV or PH code is the one to give us. Our spec guide shows where Windows names the processor.
Our form asks for the graphics card after the screen size. PredatorSense and NitroSense handle fans and performance modes. The card’s exact name is in Task Manager: right-click the Start button, choose Task Manager, then Performance, and look at the GPU listed as NVIDIA or AMD.
Reading Acer gaming model names
AN is Nitro, ANV is Nitro V and PH is Predator Helios. The two digits after the first number give the screen: AN515 is 15.6 inches and AN517 is 17.3. The number after the dash is the version:
- Nitro 5 AN515-57: 11th-generation Intel
- Nitro 5 AN515-58: 12th-generation Intel
- Nitro V ANV15-51: 13th-generation Intel
- Predator Helios 300 PH315-54: 11th-generation Intel
- Helios 300 PH315-55: 12th-generation Intel
What changes the price
- The graphics card. Nvidia cards are listed by model; the RTX 4050 and 4060 share an option.
- The processor. The gaming form starts at Intel’s 8th generation; for anything older, choose “Can’t see your processor?”.
- Condition. A Nitro or Predator without a working charger keeps its grade, and we take £75 off an Excellent one. A cracked screen or a laptop that won’t start counts as Faulty; selling a broken laptop explains what we pay for.

Should I pick Acer or Predator / Nitro on the form?
Predator / Nitro. That route asks for your graphics card, and it adds a fifth to what the standard Acer form offers for identical parts.
Is a Triton worth more than a Helios?
Only through its parts. A Triton and a Helios holding the same chip and card, in equal condition, get the same offer.
How do I enter a Nitro with an AMD Ryzen?
Choose AMD, then the model and series. The form groups Ryzen series in pairs, so a Ryzen 7 5800H is Ryzen 7 4000/5000.
